Instructions

  1. Finely chop the scallion and crush the garlic.
  2. Put the breadcrumbs in a large bowl with the soy milk and soy sauce, mix and let it sit.
  3. Brown the scallion and garlic with the salt and the 2 tablespoons of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat, stirring constantly. Add it to the bowl.
  4. Gradually add the TVP, water, herbs, the tablespoon of cornstarch and, little by little, the gluten, stirring well. When all the gluten is in, knead by hand for 3-4 minutes.
  5. Bring plenty of water to a boil in a pot with the bouillon cube and bay leaves.
  6. Shape balls of about 2 cm and roll them in cornstarch. Carefully drop them into the boiling water and cook over medium heat, at a gentle simmer, for 12 minutes, stirring now and then.
  7. Take them out and let them cool slightly. Thread 3 meatballs onto each small skewer.
  8. Heat the tablespoon of oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add as many skewers as will fit, pour a little barbecue sauce over them and sauté for 2 minutes at most, until browned. Serve.
